Well, for the past 10 years we’ve been trying to get over to India to capture the amazing work that is taking place for an organization known as “Wells For Life”. This organization seeks out the poorest villages in India and brings fresh water to them by way of wells. With as much progression as India has seen over the last 20 years, it’s awful to see that most of the villages, even those just miles outside of the big cities are still without clean water. It’s not uncommon for women and children to walk miles and miles to the closet water source only to arrive to turtles and frogs swimming in their open pit wells and cows and human waste in their river beds. Wells For Life is combating all of this by hiring local laborers in each area and using local well drills, some mechanical and some manual, to bring fresh, clean water to the surface. Box Light Films was there to capture this life changing work. We are excited to create a short documentary for this organization to use on their website and social media outlets to bring about awareness and to continue to raise support. It’s amazing that it only costs around $2,500 for a single well that changes the lives on an entire village. We are honored to be a part of this monumental endeavor. Stay tuned for a “behind the scenes” look at the filming as we begin post production and don’t miss the release of the final film!
